What I agreed with during the presidential debates did not really match what I chose on the Presidential Match-o-Matic on the abc website. After I did the quiz, I told my brother to do it, he picked one different answer than me and his majority supported a different candidate than what I ended up with.
I weigh certain topics more than others and the topics that I weighed the most fully matched whom I really support. Most of the topics I considered of less importance ended up for the other candidate’s favor. Nevertheless, this quiz has increased my confidence in whom I am in favor of. I will tell you who I support in this blog, if you wish to know, I will tell in person. Please respect that, and do not try to guess over this blog. Thank you.
I think that this was an interesting way for people to learn about the candidates and to help learn which one was right for them. I personally agree with McCain’s and Obama’s views on the issues almost equally which means that I can be called a swing voter. At the end of the quiz, I did end up with a winner. The presidential candidate that I agreed with the most was Senator Obama. John McCain was only a few points away from being my ideal presidential candidate and I agreed with him on a few hot topics and health care procedures. My results indicated that my ideal presidential candidate would be Obama because we agree on the Iraq war and several other hot topics. I personally did not agree with Senator McCain on health care when I was watching the presidential debates. Did his opinon change over time? Or was it the way that it was explained that made me disapprove of his ideas?
I really liked this quiz as it really showed who liked the ideas of either Obama or Mccain. My quiz said that I am leaning more to the side of Mccain. Before I even took this quiz I liked Mccain. Now I know even more about the person that I would vote for if I was the legal age. To bad i really cant vote though. I am only a little more than 6 months to young to be able to vote in the 2008 election. I do like some of Obama said though. I dont really dislike what he is going to change, but I think Mccain’s decisions would be better for the majority of Americans.
Well, when i finished taking that one quiz, Obama was the winner. But what really got me off guard is that it was a close match between Obama and Mccain [7 out of 6]. I really don’t pay much mind to politics i think it is just one big head ache because from one person i hear that Obama is going to win and 5 minutes later i hear that Mccain has a shoe in. This is why i don’t stress myself anymore than necessary. But I do have opinions so here I go. When it came to the whole economy questions it turned out that I agreed with Mccain. I agree that we should have a balanced budget because we dont want to splurge and then realize, “Oops, there goes our savings”. And secondly I agree that firing people in this economies state is not a smart idea.
Reguarding the Iraq war, I agree with Obama, on that the government is not going to change unless they want to. The way i see it that this is a free country yet we are trying to get Iraq to see our way. I think that if Iraq wants to solve its problems it will in time and that we shouldn’t interfere we have enough problems as it is.
As for the health, I really dont care, this is sad but this is my opinion. My parents are tax payers so we are doing our part to help out with the health thing and some people take welfare and some dont appreciate the cost of the things they are getting for free. For example there is a student that her mom uses the birth control pills she gets from welfare to add to her shampoo to make her hair shinny, this is what I mean that we shouldnt keep using up more money for health, it is just a matter of how well you spend the money. [I'm sorry if I had offended anybody] but i do agree that the cost for health problems and medications and such SHOULD be at a reasonable cost.
I find it funny how America is trying to enforce the whole border problem by building a more secure wall thing. When people want something they would do anything in their power to get it and when someone wants to go the U.S., seriously, they will get in one way or another. I guess this is why my opinions matched with Obama. I like how he found an agreement, that illegal immagrants should pay a fee, and that it would be very pointless to try to kick out 12 million immigrants. A example would be a movie called “A Day Without A Mexican” and it shows how poeple are very mad because Mexicans make a huge part of our society, and I liked what Marco said, that he bets that an immigrant is working on their landscaping. It’s stereotypical but it’s true to some extent.
As for the hot topics, I really dont have much say in abortion. So I clicked on the shortest quote. As for gay marriage, I think that everybody has a right to marry whom ever they want, so why cant gay people have that right? I think gay people tend to be more passionate about their relationship mainly because not many support them so it is hard to find someone that does. Global Warming is such a big problem because it is getting to the point when the temperature is just rediculous. Many animals are going entict or on their way to the point. So go Obama. As for who should be president i agree with Obama, that this person that is to be president should have a clear vision of what the problem is and what should be done to fix that problem. But honestly whoever is elected, in my opinion, is not going to fix the economy in just 4 years, it will take more time for that to happen.
I like Alexis’s conclusion for her comment. Something like we should all take this whole politics deal more seriously because this is not something like American Idol where our votes does not affect our lives in any way.
haha.. Cheese and rice Gen! You always write a book!
Yea, that movie “A Day Withought A Mexican” is interesting… but I can only sit through it once. =/
